【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군보건소는 지역 주민의 만성질환 예방과 건강 위험 요인을 조기 발견·관리하기 위해 주민의 주 생활터인 읍·면 경로당으로‘찾아가는 건강보건소’를 운영하고 있다.
이 사업은 간호사·보건진료소장·공중보건의 등 전문 인력이 마을경로당을 직접 방문해 건강 측정, 건강관리 상담, 만성질환 예방 및 건강생활실천 교육 등을 제공하는 주민 밀착형 보건 서비스다. 읍 지역은 보건소 방문간호사, 면 지역은 보건지소·진료소에서 각각 전담 운영하고 있다.
