충청남도가 미래 먹거리인 이차전지 산업의 주도권을 잡기 위해 현장 행보를 강화하고 국가첨단전략산업 특화단지 지정에 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
이를 위해 충남도는 19일 충남도 관계 공무원을 비롯해 9개 기업 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 이차전지 산업의 현안을 공유하고 현장의 목소리를 정책에 반영하기 위해 천안 소재 한국유미코아에서 '제3차 경제상황 현장 점검회의'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
참석자들은 국가첨단전략산업 특화단지 지정과 관련한 추진 상황을 점검하고, 충남 이차전지 생태계의 질적 성장을 위한 다양한 의견을 나눴다.
충남도가 구상하는 이차전지 특화단지의 핵심은 아산만 일대 8개 산업단지를 연계한 거대 클러스터 조성이다. 총 2만 2,000㎡ 규모의 부지에 배터리 기초 원료부터 핵심 부품, 완제품 생산, 그리고 관리시스템(BMS)에 이르기까지 전 주기를 아우르는 '고성능 전극 공급망'을 구축한다는 복안이다.
이를 위해 도는 지난 2월 말 산업통상자원부에 특화단지 지정 공모 신청서를 제출했으며, 현재 진행 중인 평가 절차 대응에 만전을 기하고 있다.
국가첨단전략산업 특화단지로 지정될 경우 입주 기업과 기관은 단지 조성 관련 행정 절차 간소화, 기술 개발(R&D), 생산성 향상, 수출 촉진, 전문 인력 양성 지원, 국공유 재산 사용료 및 대부료 감면, 각종 부담금 감면 특례 적용 등 파격적인 지원을 받게 된다.
충남도는 또 서산·당진에 도심항공교통(UAM)용 차세대 배터리 R&D 거점 육성, 천안·아산에는 전기차 중심의 지능형 배터리 산업 클러스터 조성, 보령·홍성·부여에는 친환경 배터리 재제조 및 자원순환 중심지 조성 등 지역별 특성을 살린 '이차전지 산업 지도'를 통해 체계적인 육성 전략을 실행한다는 계획이다.
충남도는 이번 회의에서 도출된 기업들의 건의 사항과 전문가 의견을 면밀히 검토해 향후 세부 정책 수립에 적극 반영할 방침이다.
