【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북도는 충북물포럼과 함께 19일 오후 2시 청남대 대통령기념관에서 ‘2026년 세계 물의 날’ 기념행사를 가졌다.
이날 행사에는 충북물포럼 회원, 환경단체, 관련 기관, 도민 등 120여 명이 참석했다. 행사는 도정홍보영상 상영을 시작으로 물관리 유공자 표창, 퍼포먼스 및 기조 강연순으로 진행되었다.
이복원 경제부지사는 충북의 물관리와 수질 개선에 기여한 공무원과 민간인 27명에게 도지사 표창을 수여하며 그간의 노고를 치하했다. 이어 참석자들은 “충북 생명의 물, 모두가 누리는 물 복지”를 주제로 퍼포먼스를 펼치며 물의 소중함과 지속 가능한 관리의 중요성을 되새겼다.
이 부지사는 기념사에서 “충북은 대한민국 물의 중심지로서 기후변화에 대응한 체계적인 수자원 관리계획을 수립하고, 수질 개선 사업과 레이크파크 르네상스를 통해 깨끗한 물 환경 조성에 도정 역량을 집중하겠다”고 강조했다.
한편, 기조강연에서는 충북대학교 송철민 교수가 ‘충북 물 권리 확보 방안’을 주제로 충북 물 자원의 합리적 이용과 정책 방향을 제시했다.
‘세계 물의 날’은 1992년 제47차 UN 총회에서 지정된 기념일로, 매년 3월 22일 수자원 보전과 물의 중요성에 대한 인식을 높이기 위해 기념되고 있다.
