인천시에 따르면, 해당 도로구간은 중구 중산동 1097-600에서 시작해 청라하늘대교를 거쳐 서구 청라동 101-11까지 연결되는 총길이 8.1킬로미터 구간이다.

‘청라하늘대로’는 청라하늘대교의 명칭을 반영해 위치를 직관적으로 인지할 수 있어 도로의 예측성과 활용성이 높다는 점에서 긍정적으로 평가됐다.
지역적 특성과 정체성을 효과적으로 담아냈다는 점이 주요 선정 사유다.
