(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구가 오는 5월 15일까지, 지역문제 해결과 주민편익 증진을 위한 ‘주민참여예산 제안사업’을 공모한다고 밝혔다.
부평구에 따르면, 공모는 공공성 예산편성 전 분야를 대상으로 하며 이 가운데 구는 청년 등 미래세대 분야와 주민안전사업, 지속가능발전 및 문화도시 부평 비전에 부합하는 사업들에 대해 적극 발굴한다는 방침이다.
제안된 사업은 소관부서 검토와 주민참여예산위원회 심의, 온라인 주민투표 등을 거쳐 오는 10월 열리는 민관협의회에서 최종 선정된다.
선정된 사업은 2027년 부평구 예산안 반영 및 구의회 심의 등을 거쳐 사업이 확정, 추진될 예정이다.
참여를 원하는 주민은 부평구 누리집을 통해 신청하거나 방문 또는 우편으로 제출할 수 있으며, 관련 문의는 부평구청 자치행정과로 하면 된다.
이와 관련, 부평구는 제도의 실효성을 높이고 주민과의 소통을 강화하기 위해 관련 공무원 역량 강화에도 나섰다.
부평구는 지난 18일 22개 동과 주요 사업부서 담당 공무원을 대상으로 ‘2026년 주민참여예산 공무원 역량강화 교육’을 실시했다.
교육은 사업을 수행·관리하는 공무원의 제도 이해를 돕고 실무역량을 높일 수 있도록 주민참여와 행정혁신, 주민참여예산제의 의의와 현황, 부평구 참여예산과 공무원의 역할 등을 중심으로 진행됐다.
부평구 관계자는 “주민참여예산은 주민과 행정의 협력이 중요한 제도”라며 “앞으로도 제도의 내실화를 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다. 주민 여러분의 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

또한, 부평구가 20일 교통사고 없는 안전한 도시 조성을 위해 구청에서 ‘2026년 제1차 교통안전 실무협의체 회의’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
부평구에 따르면, 이번 회의에는 부평구를 비롯해 부평경찰서, 삼산경찰서, 한국도로교통공단, 인천북부교육지원청 등 유관기관 실무 관계자들이 참석해 교통안전 사각지대 해소와 기관 간 협력체계 구축 방안을 논의했다.
참석자들은 2026년 실무협의체 운영계획, 기관별 교통안전 추진사업, 교통안전시설 개선 및 교육·캠페인 추진 방향 등 주요 사업계획을 공유하고, 교통사고 예방을 위한 협력 방안을 모색했다.
특히, 어린이·어르신 등 교통약자를 위한 맞춤형 교통안전교육과 보행환경 개선, 교통안전시설 확충 방안이 논의됐다.
또, 보행자 안전 강화를 위한 ‘킥보드 없는 거리’ 지정 및 개인형 이동장치(PM) 관리 강화 방안도 함께 다뤄졌다.
부평구 관계자는 “교통사고 예방은 특정 기관의 노력만으로는 한계가 있는 만큼, 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협력을 통해 보행자 중심의 교통안전 정책을 꾸준히 이어갈 것”이라며 “구민이 안심할 수 있는 안전한 교통환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
