【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 20일(금)부터 다음달 11일(토)까지 도내 일원에서 <제55회 충청북도소년체육대회>를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 대회는 5월 23일(토)부터 26일(화)까지 부산광역시 일원에서 열리는 <제55회 전국소년체육대회>에 참가할 충북 대표선수 선발과 학생선수들의 경기력 향상을 위해 마련됐다.
초등학교부 23종목, 중학교부 35종목, 특수학교(급) 장애학생부 6종목에 2천여 명이 참가해 기량을 겨루며, 학교와 지역을 대표한 학생 선수들이 그동안 갈고 닦은 실력을 펼친다.
도교육청은 각 종목협회와 협력해 경기장별 안전 점검과 사전 안전교육, 응급의료팀 배치, 경기 전·후 건강 상태 점검 등을 실시하며 학생 선수 안전을 최우선으로 대회를 운영할 계획이다.
윤건영 교육감은 “학생들이 평소 갈고 닦은 실력을 마음껏 펼치고, 땀과 열정 속에서 성장하는 소중한 경험을 쌓기를 바란다.”라며 “이번 대회가 스포츠 정신을 바탕으로 모두가 함께 즐기는 건강한 축제의 장이 되기를 기대한다.”라고 말했다. 이어 “앞으로도 학생들이 어디서나 자신의 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 지원하고, 몸활동을 통해 미래 역량을 기를 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 덧붙였다.
