군은 공정한 납세문화 정착과 체납 방지를 위해 체계적인 체납 정리에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
현재 관내 외국인 체납자는 514명, 체납액은 약 27백만원에 달하며 군은 납세 관련 정보 부족과 언어 소통의 어려움이 체납 발생의 주요 원인으로 보고 있다.
군은 외국인 체납자에게 자진납부를 유도하고 지방세 제도에 대한 이해를 돕기 위한 첫 단계로 4개 국어가 병기된 체납안내문을 제작해 개별 발송했다.
박송희 재무과장은 “이번 조치를 통해 외국인도 내국인과 마찬가지로 납세 의무가 있다는 점을 인식하고, 공정한 세금문화 정착에 기여하길 바란다”며 “이해도 높은 세정 서비스를 통해 보다 효과적인 체납관리를 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
