(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 23일, 2026년 7월 1일 검단구 출범을 앞두고 검단구의 정체성과 미래비전을 담은 상징물 개발에 본격 착수했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 이번 상징물 개발은 검단구의 도시 이미지와 브랜드가치를 체계적으로 정립하고, 새로운 행정구역의 상징체계를 마련하기 위해 추진된다.
개발 대상은 검단구 CI, 캐릭터 등 검단구를 대표할 수 있는 상징물 전반으로 지역의 역사성과 미래성, 상징성을 종합적으로 반영할 계획이다.
이와 함께 서구는 3월 23일부터 4월 1일까지 10일간 ‘검단구 상징물 키워드 공모전’을 개최한다.
이번 공모전은 구민이 생각하는 검단구의 이미지와 정체성, 비전을 자유롭게 제안받아 향후 상징물 개발의 기초자료로 활용하기 위해 마련됐다.
공모전은 주민들이 검단구를 떠올릴 때 연상되는 단어를 주관식으로 작성하는 방식으로 진행되며, 접수된 응답은 분석을 거쳐 핵심 키워드로 정리될 예정이다.
도출관 결과를 객관화한 뒤 주민 대상 객관식 설문조사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 반영하여 검단구 상징물의 시안을 개발할 계획이다.
검단구 출범준비단 부서 관계자는 “이번 키워드 공모전은 주민이 생각하는 검단구의 이미지와 가치를 직접 담아내는 참여의 출발점”이라며, “검단구의 비전과 상징성을 효과적으로 표현할 수 있는 상징물을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

올해 총 지원 금액은 2천만 원이며, 심사를 통해 10개소 이내로 선정하여 지원금을 1,740천 원 ~ 2,500천 원으로 나누어 차등 지원할 예정이다.
