군은 문화체육관광부와 국민체육진흥공단이 주관한 ‘2026년 가상현실 스포츠실 보급사업’에 최종 선정돼 국비 2500만원을 확보했다고 23일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 가상현실(VR) 기술을 활용한 스포츠 체험 공간을 구축해 스포츠 취약계층의 체육활동 참여 기회를 확대하고 건강 증진을 도모하기 위해 추진된다.
군은 사업 선정으로 다양한 가상 스포츠 콘텐츠를 활용한 실내 체육활동 공간인 가상현실 스포츠실을 올해 12월까지 조성할 방침이다.
특히 체육진흥과와 가족행복과가 협업해 체육과 복지 분야가 연계된 사업으로 운영한다.
총사업비는 5000만원 규모로, 기금 50%와 군비 50% 매칭 방식으로 추진된다. 가상현실 스포츠실은 음성읍 소재 한빛복지관 2층 강의실(45㎡)에 설치되며, 이곳에서는 VR 기반 스포츠 콘텐츠를 활용해 실내에서도 안전하고 재미있게 참여할 수 있는 신체 활동 프로그램 등이 운영될 계획이다.
이는 신체 활동이 제한적인 어르신 등 지역 주민들의 생활체육 참여 확대와 건강 증진에도 기여할 것으로 기대되고 있다.
