대전선관위, '장애인 유권자' 대상 현장형 선거교육

대전광역시선거관리위원회가 장애인 유권자의 투표 참여를 돕기 위한 현장형 선거교육에 들어갔다. 단순 안내를 넘어 실제 투표 과정을 직접 익히게 하는 방식으로, 선거 접근성을 높이겠다는 취지다.

대전선관위는 23일 대전발달장애인지원센터에서 장애인 유권자를 대상으로 ‘찾아가는 선거교육’을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 이 교육은 복지시설과 특수학교 등을 직접 방문해 진행하는 체험형 프로그램으로, 오는 6월 3일 치러지는 제9회 전국동시지방선거 전까지 모두 12차례 운영될 예정이다. 

이날 교육은 민주주의와 선거제도에 대한 기본 이해, 선거 참여의 의미, 후보자 선택 방법, 지방선거 주요 정보 등을 중심으로 진행됐다. 특히 참여자들은 사전투표장비를 활용해 본인 확인부터 투표용지 수령, 기표, 투표함 투입까지 전 과정을 직접 체험하며 실제 투표 흐름을 익혔다. 

대전선관위는 특수형 기표용구 사용법과 함께 수어통역서비스, 이동약자 차량 지원 등 장애인 유권자를 위한 투표 편의 제도도 함께 안내했다. 선거권이 법에 적혀 있는 것만으로는 충분하지 않고, 누구나 실제로 행사할 수 있는 조건이 갖춰져야 한다는 점을 반영한 구성이다.
