브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 기아는 서울시와 손을 잡고 ‘더 기아 PV5 WAV(Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle, PV5 WAV)’를 활용, 교통약자 이동 편의 향상 및 전기차 충전 인프라 확대를 위한 전략적 파트너십을 구축했다고 24일 밝혔다.
모든 사람의 자유로운 이동권을 생각하는 기아의 모빌리티 비전과 전기차 충전 인프라 확충을 통해 교통약자를 배려하고자 하는 서울시 정책이 맞물리며 이번 협력이 성사됐다.
PV5 WAV는 기아 브랜드 첫 전용 PBV(차량 그 이상의 플랫폼, Platform Beyond Vehicle) PV5에서 파생된 모델로, 고객의 이동 편의를 한층 높이려는 의지가 반영된 차량이다.
휠체어 이용 승객의 편리하고 안전한 이동을 위해 국내 전기차 최초로 측면 출입 방식이 적용됐으며, 기존 탑승 방식 대비 교통약자의 탑승 편의성과 안전성을 한층 강화했다.
이번 파트너십을 계기로 기아와 서울시는 PV5 WAV를 활용해 교통약자의 실질적인 이동성 향상과, 지역사회 내 친환경 모빌리티 확산을 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
기아는 서울시에 있는 사회복지시설 및 장애인 가족을 둔 서울 시민을 대상으로 PV5 WAV 특별 구매 지원금을 제공한다.
구매 지원금은 휠체어 탑승 승객의 승하차 편의성을 높이는 데 특화된 ‘파워도어Ⅰ옵션(우측 스마트 파워 슬라이딩 도어, 스마트 파워테일게이트)’ 장착 비용 80만 원과, 차량 구매 이후 유지비 부담을 낮출 수 있는 전기차 충전비 20만 원으로 구성된다.
서울시도 전기차로 전환되는 사회복지시설 차량과 교통약자 이동 지원 차량의 충전 접근성을 높일 수 있게 올해 약 12억 원 규모의 예산을 투입해 동행 전기차 충전기 100기(완속 90기, 급속 10기) 무상 설치를 추진하고 있다. 설치 대상은 부지 무상 사용에 동의한 사회복지시설과 공동주택 등으로 PV5 WAV를 구매한 고객에 한해 혜택이 제공될 예정이다.
