고령군은 발생 지점을 중심으로 반경 10km 이내 양돈농가에 대해 이동제한 조치를 시행하고, 인근 야산에 서식하는 멧돼지 수색 및 포획 작업을 강화하는 등 현장 중심 대응을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.
또한 축협 공동방제단과 군 방제차량을 투입해 발생지와 인근 농가를 대상으로 집중 소독을 실시하고 있으며, 가축방역위생지원본부와 협력해 드론 방역도 병행하고 있다. 이와 함께 멧돼지 기피제 살포와 소독 초소 2개소를 설치해 사람과 차량 출입에 대한 방역 관리도 강화했다.
군은 발생지 인근 주민들에게 입산 자제를 안내하는 한편, 산지 인접 지역에 대해서는 추가적인 기피제 살포와 자체 소독을 요청하는 등 지역사회 협조를 당부했다.
현재까지 관내 양돈농가에서는 아프리카돼지열병 의심 사례는 확인되지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
고령군 관계자는 “야생 멧돼지를 통한 전파 가능성이 높은 만큼 선제적 방역 조치를 강화하고 있다”며 “농가에서도 외부인 출입 통제와 소독 강화 등 기본 방역수칙을 철저히 준수해 달라”고 당부했다.
