전명자 전 대전 서구의회 의장이 오는 6월 3일 실시되는 대전 서구청장 선거 출마를 공식 선언했다.
24일 오전 대전시의회 기자실에서 출마를 선언한 더불어민주당 소속인 전 전 의장은 이번 출마를 통해 사람의 삶을 중심에 두는 서구를 만들고, 흔들린 서구 행정을 바로잡겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
그는 서구의회 첫 여성 의장을 역임하고 복수·도마·정림동 등지에서 주민들과 호흡해 온 생활 정치인으로서의 경험을 강조하며 출마의 변을 열었다.

도시철도 2호선 트램과 충청권 광역철도 공사 과정에서 발생할 주민들의 생활 불편과 상권 피해를 철저히 관리하고, 이들 교통망과 시내버스가 유기적으로 연결되는 서구형 교통 체계를 완성하겠다는 구상이다.
또한 방위사업청 이전의 효과를 지역 청년 일자리 창출과 경제 활성화로 연결하고, 도마동 뷰티산업진흥원을 청년과 여성의 고용 거점으로 육성하겠다는 실행 전략도 함께 제시했다.
