대전테크노파크(이하 대전TP)가 유럽 최대 응용과학 연구기관인 독일 프라운호퍼 연구소와 손잡고 지역 내 연구산업 기업들의 글로벌 시장 진출을 적극적으로 지원한다.
대전TP는 현지시간으로 지난 23일 독일 프라운호퍼 연구소를 방문해 양 기관의 실질적인 협력 프로그램 추진과 공동 연구개발(R&D) 방안을 논의했다.
이번 방문은 지난 2024년 대전시와 프라운호퍼 연구소가 체결한 업무협약(MOU)의 후속 실행 단계다. 단순한 업무 교류를 넘어 지역 기업들이 체감할 수 있는 글로벌 기술사업화의 물꼬를 트기 위해 추진됐다.
이번 현지 방문에는 한국연구산업협회 박한오 회장(바이오니아 대표)이 함께 참여해 협력의 무게감을 더했다.
박 회장은 연구장비와 바이오 분석기술 분야의 국제 협력 방안을 제시하고, 넥스트 팬데믹에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있는 안티바이러스 기술 프로젝트를 구체적인 협업 안건으로 꺼내 들었다.
국내의 우수한 분석·진단 장비 인프라와 글로벌 감염병 대응 기술이 시너지를 내는 실질적인 공동 연구 모델이 될 것으로 기대된다.
프라운호퍼 연구소는 산업 현장에 즉각 적용할 수 있는 실용 연구를 바탕으로 전 세계 기업들의 기술 혁신을 주도하는 기관이다.
대전TP는 이번 만남을 계기로 글로벌 파트너십을 공고히 다지는 한편, 대전 연구산업진흥단지에 입주한 유망 중소기업들이 프라운호퍼의 광범위한 인프라와 국제 공동 R&D에 참여할 수 있도록 가교 구실을 할 방침이다.
김우연 대전TP 원장은 대전이 과학기술정보통신부 지정 연구산업진흥단지를 중심으로 핵심 인프라와 관련 기업이 집적된 대한민국 연구산업의 중추임을 강조했다.
아울러 이번에 확보한 글로벌 네트워크를 지렛대 삼아 지역 연구산업 기업들의 해외 시장 개척과 안착을 다각도로 지원하겠다고 덧붙였다.
현재 과학기술정보통신부와 대전시는 지역 연구장비 및 과학서비스 기업의 대외 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 다양한 육성 정책을 가동하고 있다.
대전TP는 이러한 정책 방향과 연계해 해외 유수 협력 기관과의 네트워킹을 상시화하고, 단순 교류를 넘어 상업적으로 가치 있는 실질적인 공동 연구 성과를 만들어내는 데 역량을 모을 계획이다.

He added that, leveraging the global network secured this time, they will provide multifaceted support for local research industry companies to pioneer and establish themselves in overseas markets. Currently, the Ministry of Science and ICT and Daejeon City are implementing various fostering policies to enhance the external competitiveness of local research equipment and science service companies.
In line with these policy directions, Daejeon TP plans to normalize networking with leading overseas partner institutions and focus its capabilities on producing practical joint research outcomes that are commercially valuable, going beyond simple exchanges.
