<브레이크뉴스 포천 = 김형렬 기자> 포천시 일동면 행정복지센터가 만물이 소생하는 새봄을 맞아 지역 주민과 군 장병, 행정 기관이 하나 된 대대적인 환경정화 활동을 펼치며 지역 사회에 훈훈함을 전하고 있다.
일동면은 지난 24일 마을 안길과 주요 도로변 일대에서 쾌적한 생활 환경 조성을 위한 '민관군 합동 국토대청소'를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
이번 환경정화 활동은 새마을부녀회와 방위협의회가 두 팔을 걷어붙이고 주관했으며, 지역 방위를 든든하게 책임지는 16기계화보병여단 장병들과 청년회가 적극적으로 협력해 그 의미를 더했다. 이날 행사에는 무려 100여 명의 인원이 자발적으로 동참해 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

참여자들은 구역별로 조를 나누어 마을 안길과 도로변 곳곳에 쌓인 묵은 쓰레기를 집중 수거하고, 미관을 심각하게 해치는 불법 투기 폐기물을 말끔히 제거하는 등 깨끗한 거리 조성을 위해 힘을 모았다. 합동 청소에 참여한 단체들은 이번 활동을 마중물 삼아, 앞으로도 일회성 행사에 그치지 않고 지속적인 봉사와 환경 정비로 살기 좋은 내 고장 만들기에 앞장서겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.
