국민의힘 충남도당 공천관리위원회(이하 공관위)가 25일 제7차 회의를 열고 충남 지역 기초단체장 10개 선거구의 경선 후보자 29명을 확정해 의결했다.
이번에 발표된 경선 후보자들은 그동안 공관위가 실시한 서류 심사와 면접, 심사용 여론조사 등의 다각적인 검증 과정을 거쳐 최종 경선 후보로 이름을 올렸다. 공관위가 공개한 각 기초단체장 경선 선거구와 후보자 명단은 가나다순으로 다음과 같다.
우선 시장 선거구의 경우 보령시장 경선에 김기호, 김정훈, 박상모, 엄승용 후보 등 4명이 배정되었고, 당진시장 경선에는 김석붕, 오성환 후보가 맞붙는다. 계룡시장 경선 후보로는 이응우, 임강수, 허염 후보가 명단에 포함되었다.
군수 선거구 역시 치열한 경쟁 구도가 형성되었다.
태안군수 경선에는 김세호, 김진권, 윤희신, 이영수 후보 등 4명이 이름을 올렸으며, 예산군수 경선은 구동오, 장병길, 최재구 후보의 3파전으로 치러진다.
서천군수 경선에는 김기웅, 신영호, 한경석 후보가, 금산군수 경선에는 김태훈, 문경주, 박범인 후보가 각각 경쟁을 벌인다.
부여군수 경선 후보로는 김천룡, 이용우, 조길연 후보가 확정되었고, 청양군수 경선에는 김홍열, 황선만 후보가, 홍성군수 경선에는 박정주, 이용록 후보가 각각 양자 대결을 펼치게 되었다.
한편 아산시 기초단체장 선거구의 경우 공관위가 추가 공모를 실시한 이후에 별도로 경선을 진행할 예정이다. 충남도당 공관위는 이번 후보자 확정을 기점으로 지방선거 승리를 위한 본격적인 경선 체제에 돌입할 방침이다.

Kim Cheon-ryong, Lee Yong-woo, and Jo Gil-yeon have been confirmed as candidates for the Buyeo County Governor primary. In the Cheongyang County Governor primary, Kim Hong-yeol and Hwang Seon-man will face off in a two-way contest, and in the Hongseong County Governor primary, Park Jeong-ju and Lee Yong-rok will compete.
Meanwhile, for the Asan City basic local government head constituency, the Nomination Committee plans to hold a separate primary after conducting an additional open recruitment process. With the confirmation of these candidates, the South Chungcheong Provincial Party Nomination Committee intends to enter a full-scale primary system aimed at winning the local elections.
