이번 공청회는 음성군이 역점 사업으로 추진 중인 그린에너지 스마트농업타운의 지구지정(안)과 전략환경영향평가 초안에 대해 읍내5리, 신천5리, 평곡 1·3·5리 등 사업 대상지 주민과 전문가들의 의견을 청취하고 수렴하기 위해 마련됐다.
특히 이번 공청회는 지난 11일 국토교통부의 ‘공공토지 비축사업’ 공모에 음성군이 최종 선정되면서 사업 추진의 안정적인 교두보를 마련한 직후 열려 의미를 더했다.
공공토지 비축사업은 국토교통부 공모사업으로, 공모에 선정되면 LH(한국토지주택공사)가 LH토지은행 재원을 통해 해당 토지를 사전에 매입한 뒤, 지자체에서 필요한 시점에 이를 공급받는 방식으로 진행된다.
