군은 오는 5월 22일부터 24일까지 3일간 단양읍 수변무대와 시가지 일원에서 ‘제42회 단양 소백산철쭉제’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
올해로 42회를 맞는 소백산철쭉제는 매년 5월 말 소백산 능선을 연분홍빛으로 물들이는 철쭉을 주제로 열리는 단양의 대표 봄 축제다.
단양강 수변무대를 중심으로 공연·체험·전시·먹거리 프로그램이 펼쳐지며 관광객과 지역 주민이 함께 어우러지는 화합의 장으로 꾸며질 예정이다.
지난해 제41회 소백산철쭉제는 산신제를 비롯해 철쭉·야생화 테마관, 동춘서커스 공연, 단양사투리 경연대회, 버스킹 공연, 레이저쇼 등 지역 색깔을 살린 콘텐츠로 큰 호응을 얻었다.
