【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군은 26일 민병연 상담관을 무료 법률 상담관으로 새롭게 위촉했다고 밝혔다.
이날 위촉된 민병연 상담관은 대한법률구조공단 법문화센터(김천시 소재) 소속으로 2000년부터 공단 여러 부서에서 근무한 베테랑이다.
대한법률구조공단은 「법률구조법」에 따라 1987년 9월 1일 설립된 공공기관으로, 경제적 어려움이나 법률 지식 부족으로 인해 법적 보호를 받기 어려운 사회·경제적 약자들에게 무료 상담과 소송대리, 기타 법률 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
옥천군은 1994년부터 무료 법률 상담을 운영해 왔으며, 이를 통해 군민들의 법률 서비스 격차 해소와 권리 보호에 기여하고 있다. 올해에도 매월 지정된 날짜에 상담이 진행되며, 운영 시간은 오전 10시부터 오후 3시까지로 점심시간(12:00~13:00)은 운영하지 않는다. 시간관계로 1일, 최대 12명의 신청만 받고 있다. 지난해에는 총 12회에 89건의 상담이 이루어져 군민들에게 도움을 주었다.
