이번 2단계 확포장 사업은 총사업비 50억 원을 대거 투입해 북면 소법1리 마을에서 지방도 391호선으로 이어지는 핵심 구간을 집중적으로 정비한다. 특히 해당 구간에 위치한 교량인 ‘골말교’는 최근 실시된 정밀안전점검에서 재난 위험 수준인 D등급 판정을 받아 즉각적인 재가설이 시급한 상황이었다.
북101호선은 북면 제령리 목동교회 인근에서 시작해 소법리 골말교 인근까지 이어지는 총 2.4km의 주요 생활 도로망이다. 앞서 1단계 사업 구간은 지난 2023년 12월 준공을 마치고 성공적으로 개통된 바 있다. 군은 2024년부터 2단계 구간의 노선 지정을 위한 각종 행정절차를 밟아왔으며, 올해 1월 보상 협의를 최종 완료함에 따라 4월 착공이라는 결실을 맺게 됐다.
