Yangju City Receives ‘Green Light’ for Establishment of Innovative Public Hospital... 400-Bed Capacity in Okjeong District
Feasibility Study Result Secures B/C Ratio of 1.20, Proving Both Economic Feasibility and Policy Justification... All-out Effort for Early Construction Including Proposal for ‘Exemption from Preliminary Feasibility Study’
[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, announced that it recorded an economic feasibility analysis (B/C) ratio of 1.20 at the ‘Final Report Meeting for the Research Service on Feasibility and Private Investment Eligibility for the Establishment of a Public Hospital in Northeast Gyeonggi,’ held on the 25th.
This figure significantly exceeds the benchmark of 1.0 for project implementation, proving both the economic feasibility and policy justification for establishing the Yangju Public Hospital.
According to the feasibility study results, the Yangju Public Hospital is scheduled to be built within the Okjeong District as a general hospital with a capacity of 400 beds. With a scale expanded beyond the originally planned 300 beds, this facility will establish itself as a hub medical institution in northern Gyeonggi Province, encompassing not only Yangju City but also the neighboring Yeoncheon and Dongducheon.
This public hospital will operate 16 specialized treatment centers, including a Psychiatric Emergency Center and an Eye Health Clinic, alongside 18 clinical departments. It will serve as an "integrated medical hub" linking essential medical services with care services within the region.
A city official stated, "Yangju City has maintained organic communication with Gyeonggi Province and the implementing agency based on field-oriented administrative data." The official added, "We will cooperate even more closely with Gyeonggi Province during upcoming administrative procedures, such as consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Finance and Economy, to ensure the construction of this public hospital—a long-cherished wish of our citizens—proceeds without any setbacks."
