<브레이크뉴스 춘천 = 이향석 기자> 춘천시가 국토교통부 주관 ‘AI 특화 시범도시’ 공모 선정을 위해 범부서 차원의 강력한 대응 체계를 본격 가동하며 총력전에 나선다.
춘천시는 27일부터 부시장을 단장으로 하는 ‘AI 특화 시범도시 공모 추진 TF’를 공식 운영한다고 26일 밝혔다.
이번에 출범한 TF에는 도시인프라, 안전, 첨단산업, 교육, 보건복지, 에너지·환경 등 시민 생활과 밀접한 AI 도시서비스 전 분야의 핵심 부서들이 총망라되어 초연결 협업 체계를 구축했다. 해당 TF는 공모사업 최종 선정 시까지 한시적으로 운영되며, 신속하고 체계적인 대응 전략을 전담하게 된다.
시는 향후 강원정보문화산업진흥원을 비롯해 민간기업, 대학, 연구기관, 공공기관 등이 대거 참여하는 매머드급 컨소시엄을 구성해 공모 대응 역량을 한층 더 확장해 나갈 계획이다.
국토교통부가 추진하는 ‘AI 특화 시범도시 사업’은 다양한 도시 데이터를 활용한 AI 기술을 도시 전반에 실증·확산시켜 국민 체감형 AI 도시를 조성하는 대규모 프로젝트다. 강원권과 대전·충북·충남 권역에 오는 6월까지 각각 1곳씩을 선정하며, 최종 선정 시 올해 국비 20억 원을 시작으로 AI 인프라 구축, 규제 특례 부여 등 단계적인 전폭적 지원을 받게 된다.
앞서 춘천시는 지난 1월 ‘춘천 AI 대전환 추진전략’을 선제적으로 발표하며 강원도 내에서 가장 빠르게 AI 정책을 구체화하고 있다. 풍부한 AI 데이터 인프라와 의료·바이오 AI 연구 기반 등을 갖춘 준비된 AI 도시로서, 현재 다수의 AI 선도 기업 및 기관과 협력해 혁신적인 서비스 모델을 구상 중이다.
