[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰청이 외국인 유학생들의 안전한 한국 생활을 돕기 위해 부산글로벌도시재단과 협력하여 전국 최초의 팟캐스트 형식 범죄예방 교육 영상 ‘범죄는 패스, 안전은 예스!’를 제작해 배포했다.
이번 프로젝트는 2025년 12월부터 3개월간의 제작 기간을 거쳐 완성됐다. 영상은 경찰관과 외국인 유학생들이 대화하며 정보를 주고받는 팟캐스트 방식을 도입해 몰입도를 높였으며, 유학생들이 노출되기 쉬운 ‘보이스피싱’과 ‘마약범죄’를 주제로 총 2편이 제작됐다. 현재 한국어 외에도 영어, 중국어, 베트남어 자막을 제공한다.
부산경찰청은 지난 3월 9일부터 부산 지역 19개 모든 대학(일반대 14개교, 전문대 5개교)에 해당 영상을 배포했다. 신라대학교 국제교류처 윤인석 과장은 “범죄 상황을 이해하기 쉽게 전달하고 있어 교육적 활용도가 매우 높다”며 적극적인 활용 의사를 밝혔다.
영상 제작에 직접 참여한 부산대학교 몽골 유학생 엥크타이왕 산치르(25) 씨는 “촬영을 통해 일상 속 범죄 위험을 새롭게 인식하게 됐다”며 “외국인 유학생들에게 꼭 필요한 내용”이라고 소감을 전했다.
부산경찰청은 앞으로도 유관기관과 협력해 체류 외국인을 위한 다양한 맞춤형 범죄예방 프로그램을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다. 해당 영상은 부산경찰청과 부산글로벌도시재단 공식 유튜브 채널을 통해 누구나 시청할 수 있다.
[English News Version] Busan Police and Global City Foundation Launch Crime Prevention Podcast for International Students
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, in collaboration with the Busan Global City Foundation, has produced "Pass Crime, Yes Safety!", the first podcast-style educational video series designed to prevent crimes against international students residing in South Korea.
The project was developed over a three-month period from December 2025 to February 2026. Departing from traditional educational formats, the series adopts a podcast style where Busan police officers and three international students engage in open dialogue. The two-part series focuses on "voice phishing" and "drug crimes," two areas where international students are particularly vulnerable. To ensure accessibility, the videos feature subtitles in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
Since March 9, the videos have been distributed to all 19 universities in Busan, including 14 general universities and five vocational colleges, to be used as official safety training materials. Yoon In-seok, a manager at Silla University’s International Affairs Department, praised the initiative, noting that the content's ease of understanding makes it a highly effective educational tool.
Enkhtaivan Sanchir, a 25-year-old Mongolian student at Pusan National University who participated in the filming, shared that the experience heightened his awareness of everyday risks. "I realized that various crime threats exist in daily life," he said. "This is essential information for all international students to stay alert."
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency stated it will continue to collaborate with related organizations to develop diverse programs aimed at ensuring the safety of foreign residents. The videos are currently available for viewing and sharing on the official YouTube channels of the Busan Police and the Busan Global City Foundation.
