대전·충청권 6개 지부 회원 100여 명 집결해 ‘여성의 평화 수호 역할’ 모색
토크 콘서트·평화 인형 만들기 등 참여형 프로그램 통해 평화 실천 의지 다져
세계여성평화그룹(IWPG) 글로벌 10국이 28일 충남 공주시 힐스포레 컨벤션홀에서 ‘평화 목소리: 여성은 어떻게 평화를 지켜왔는가’를 주제로 ‘온리피스 콘퍼런스(Only Peace Conference)’를 개최했다.
이번 행사는 대전, 청주, 천안, 아산, 공주, 서산 등 충청권 6개 지부 회원 100여 명이 참석한 가운데, 거창한 구호보다는 일상 속에서 실천할 수 있는 평화의 가치를 공유하고 여성의 주도적인 역할을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
발제자로 나선 유지영 서산지부 평화위원장은 소외 계층 나눔과 어린이 평화 그림 그리기 등 구체적인 사례를 언급하며 “평화는 누구나 삶 속에서 실천할 수 있는 친구 같은 존재”라고 정의했다. 이어 “지금은 작은 씨앗을 심는 단계지만, 후대를 위해 평화의 꽃을 피우는 활동가로서 정진하겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
해외 전문가의 제언도 이어졌다. 멕시코 타바스코 후아레스 자치대학교(UJAT)의 이본느 교수는 영상 인터뷰를 통해 “여성들이 서로 의미 있는 관계를 맺고 연대하는 것이 평화의 핵심”이라며, 교육 기관 및 관련 단체 간의 유기적인 협력 구조 구축을 향후 계획으로 제시했다.

특히 이번 콘퍼런스는 ‘생활 속 피스 토크’라는 콘셉트에 맞춰 참여형 프로그램으로 진행돼 눈길을 끌었다. 참석자들은 조별 토론과 오픈마이크를 통해 갈등 해결 경험을 자유롭게 나눴으며, ‘평화 인형 만들기’ 체험을 통해 평화의 소중함을 시각적으로 되새기는 시간을 가졌다.
한편, IWPG는 유엔 경제사회이사회(ECOSOC)와 글로벌소통국(DGC)에 등록된 국제 여성 NGO로, 전 세계 122개국 지부 및 900여 협력단체와 연대해 지속 가능한 세계 평화 실현에 앞장서고 있다.

The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global 10 Countries held the ‘Only Peace Conference’ on the 28th at the Hills Foret Convention Hall in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, under the theme ‘Voices of Peace: How Women Have Protected Peace.’
Attended by over 100 members from six branches in the Chungcheong region—including Daejeon, Cheongju, Cheonan, Asan, Gongju, and Seosan—the event was organized to share values of peace that can be practiced in daily life rather than grandiose slogans, and to explore the leading role of women. Yoo Ji-young, Chairperson of the Seosan Branch Peace Committee, who served as a presenter, defined peace as “a friend-like presence that anyone can practice in their daily lives,” citing specific examples such as sharing with the underprivileged and children’s peace drawing activities.
