경주시는 국가유산청이 지원하는 ‘2026년 국가유산 활용사업’을 오는 4월부터 순차적으로 추진한다고 30일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 △‘역사의 비밀 오래된 미래’ △‘회재가 보내온 500년 종갓집 독락당 초대장’ △‘돌에 새긴 길, 마애불의 천년미소’ 등으로 구성되며, 문화유산을 단순 관람이 아닌 체험 중심 콘텐츠로 제공하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
특히 올해 신규로 선정된 ‘역사의 비밀 오래된 미래’ 프로그램이 주목된다. 포석정과 나정 일원을 중심으로 경주의 우물에 담긴 역사적 의미를 스토리텔링 방식으로 풀어낸 체험형 콘텐츠다.
대표 프로그램인 ‘포석정 미스터리’는 참여자가 현장을 직접 탐방하며 이야기를 따라가는 방식으로 진행되며, 문화유산에 대한 이해와 몰입도를 높일 것으로 기대된다. 해당 프로그램은 4월부터 사전 예약제로 운영된다.
독락당 일원에서는 ‘회재가 보내온 500년 종갓집 독락당 초대장’ 프로그램이 마련된다. 회재 이언적 선생의 종가를 배경으로 선비문화와 전통 건축, 사랑방 문화, 전통 의례 등을 체험할 수 있다.
또 골굴암 일원에서 운영되는 ‘돌에 새긴 길, 마애불의 천년미소’는 통일신라 불교문화를 기반으로 한 프로그램으로, 선무도와 명상, 사찰음식 체험 등 수행 중심 콘텐츠를 제공한다.
이와 함께 양동마을, 옥산서원, 월성-대릉원지구, 서악마을, 운곡서원 등 주요 유산지에서도 해설과 탐방, 체험이 결합된 다양한 프로그램이 운영될 예정이다.
최혁준 경주시장 권한대행은 “국가유산 활용사업을 통해 시민과 관광객이 문화유산을 보다 쉽고 흥미롭게 접할 수 있도록 준비했다”며 “신규 프로그램에도 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 이번 프로그램은 일정에 따라 사전 예약 또는 현장 참여 방식으로 운영되며, 세부 사항은 각 운영기관을 통해 확인할 수 있다.

This program will operate on a reservation basis starting in April. At the Dokrakdang site, the program “Invitation to Dokrakdang, the 500-Year Head House Sent by Hoejae” will be offered. Set against the backdrop of the ancestral home of Hoejae Yi Eon-jeok, visitors can experience scholar culture, traditional architecture, the culture of the sarangbang (guest room), and traditional rituals.
Additionally, “The Path Carved in Stone, the Thousand-Year Smile of the Rock-Carved Buddha,” operating in the Golgulam site, is a program based on Unified Silla Buddhist culture that provides practice-oriented content, such as Seonmudo, meditation, and temple food experiences.
In addition, various programs combining commentary, tours, and hands-on experiences are scheduled to be operated at major heritage sites, including Yangdong Village, Oksan Seowon, the Wolseong-Daereungwon area, Seoak Village, and Ungok Seowon.
Choi Hyeok-jun, Acting Mayor of Gyeongju, stated, “We have prepared these national heritage utilization projects so that citizens and tourists can access cultural heritage more easily and with interest,” adding, “We hope for much interest and participation in the new programs.” Meanwhile, this program will be operated via advance reservation or on-site participation depending on the schedule, and details can be confirmed through each operating organization.
