올해 2회째를 맞은 이번 사업은 원광전통도예연구소(대표 이종성 사기장)와 함께 충주시의 문화·무형유산을 활용해 추진된다.
지난해에도 충주시민과 관광객에게 큰 호응을 얻으며 성공적으로 운영된 바 있다.
사업은 △태항아리의 귀향 △현장에서 만나는 일제강점기 충주 △태항아리에 추억을 담다 등 3개 프로그램으로 구성된다.
‘태항아리의 귀향’은 4월 1일 서울시 의릉에서 태항아리를 충주 엄정면 경종태실로 옮기는 이운식 행사로 진행된다.
이를 통해 일제강점기 훼손된 태항아리를 상징적으로 복원하고, 식민지 시기 역사를 되돌아보는 계기를 마련할 예정이다.
