시흥시, 북시흥농협과 업무협약

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시가 북시흥농업협동조합과 손잡고 대야 및 신천 원도심 활성화를 위한 본격적인 협력에 나섰다.

시는 지난 30일 시청 다슬방에서 북시흥농협과 구 북시흥농협 본점 부지 활용 협력을 위한 양해각서를 체결했다.

이번 협약은 북시흥농협 본점이 신천동으로 이전한 후 대야동에 위치한 기존 본점 부지의 활용 방안에 대한 지역사회의 관심이 높아짐에 따라 추진됐다. 해당 부지는 과거 시흥시청 인근에 자리해 행정 및 생활 중심지였던 상징성을 지닌 곳이나 도시 발전 과정에서 중심 기능이 이동하며 활력이 약화된 상태다.
