수원특례시, ‘독서도시 수원’ 비전 선포

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 지방정부 최초로 독서국가 선언에 동참한 수원시가 30일 독서도시 수원 비전 선포식을 개최했다.

이재준 수원시장은 기념사에서 인공지능 시대에 사고력과 질문하는 힘을 기르는 길은 결국 독서라고 강조하며 미래 세대가 스스로 판단할 수 있도록 돕는 독서도시 수원이 독서국가의 토대를 만들어 가겠다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 이재준 시장을 비롯해 이재식 수원특례시의회 의장과 김영호 국회 교육위원장 및 시민과 학생 대표 등이 참석해 독서도시 선언문을 낭독하고 대한민국 제1호 독서 도시를 함께 만들어 갈 것을 선언했다.

수원시는 인공지능과 함께하는 스마트 독서와 수원시가 책임지는 평생 독서 및 어디서나 즐기는 일상 독서를 3대 중점 전략으로 하는 추진 계획을 수립했다. 선포식의 일환으로 진행된 공감 토크 이후에는 2026 수원시민 한 책 함께 읽기 올해의 책으로 나태주 작가의 너를 아끼며 살아라를 포함한 5권의 도서가 발표됐다.
