이번 대회는 ‘한국의 민화를 내 마음대로 상상하는 창의적인 그림’을 주제로, 어린이들이 자유로운 상상력을 바탕으로 민화를 표현하는 참여형 문화행사로 마련됐다.
참가 신청은 4월 1일부터 22일까지 네이버 폼을 통해 사전 접수로 진행되며, 유치부와 초등부 어린이라면 누구나 무료로 참여할 수 있다. 자세한 사항은 ‘박물관 수’ 홈페이지에서 확인 가능하다.
시상은 행사 당일 현장 전문가 심사를 통해 이뤄지며, 유치부와 초등부(저학년·고학년) 등 3개 부문으로 나눠 대상과 최우수상 등 다양한 상이 수여될 예정이다.
대회는 경주엑스포대공원 백결공연장에서 5월 5일 오전 10시부터 진행되며, 민화 사생대회와 함께 목각 인형 만들기 체험 등 가족 단위 참여가 가능한 부대 프로그램도 운영된다.
또한 출품 작품은 오는 8월 경주엑스포대공원 문화센터에 전시되며, 작품 도록으로 제작돼 보다 많은 시민들에게 공개될 예정이다.
김남일 사장은 “어린이날을 맞아 아이들이 민화에 대한 관심을 높이고 전통 미술의 가치를 자연스럽게 체험할 수 있도록 이번 행사를 준비했다”며 “가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 문화 행사로 자리매김할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Corporation to Host ‘Imagination Folk Painting Contest’ for Children’s Day
The Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Corporation (President Kim Nam-il) will host the ‘Children’s Imagination Folk Painting Contest’ on May 5th to celebrate Children’s Day, to carry on the beauty of traditional folk painting in a modern way, and to help enhance children’s creativity.
Under the theme of “Creative drawings imagining Korean folk paintings as I please,” this contest is organized as a participatory cultural event where children express folk paintings based on their free imagination.
Registration will be conducted via pre-registration through Naver Form from April 1st to April 22nd, and any kindergarten or elementary school student can participate for free. Further details can be found on the ‘Museum Su’ website.
Awards will be presented through on-site expert judging on the day of the event. Various prizes, including the Grand Prize and Top Excellence Award, will be awarded across three categories: kindergarten, and elementary school (lower and upper grades).
