원성수 전 공주대 총장, 두 번째 미디어 소통데이 개최… 7대 무지개 전략 중 ‘전략 2’ 공개

원성수 세종특별자치시 교육감 예비후보(전 공주대학교 총장)가 31일 세종시청 브리핑실에서 기자회견을 열고, 세종 교육의 미래를 설계하는 ‘7대 무지개 전략’ 중 두 번째 핵심 공약을 발표했다.
원 예비후보는 이날 ‘인성과 실력을 겸비한 세종형 미래인재 양성’을 주제로, 아이들의 인성 함양과 기초학력 보장, 그리고 대입 및 진로 지원을 아우르는 구체적인 실천 방안을 소개했다.
특히 그는 “아이에겐 꿈을, 교사에겐 보람을, 학부모에겐 안심을, 시민에겐 자부심을!”이라는 슬로건을 내걸고 세종 교육의 질적 도약을 약속했다.
이번 공약의 핵심은 인성 교육의 체계화와 학습 소외 계층 없는 기초학력 보장이다.

특성화고 지원을 위해서는 신산업 중심의 학과 개편과 해외 기업 연계를 통한 인턴십 확대를 제시했으며, 대안학교 및 학교 밖 청소년들에게도 직속 기관의 진로 체험 기회와 교육 매뉴얼을 공유하는 등 소외 없는 교육 행정을 강조했다.
원 예비후보는 공약 실현의 성공 조건으로 ‘대입 문화의 근본적 변화’를 꼽았다.
그는 “정부가 대학에 학생 선발 자율권을 폭넓게 부여해 재능 중심의 대입 문화가 정착돼야 유초중등 교육이 비로소 정상화될 수 있다”고 역설했다.
이를 위해 전국 시도교육감협의회의 정무적 역할을 강화해 정부와 정치권을 설득해 나가겠다는 의지를 보였다.
