브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 현대백화점이 본격적인 나들이 시즌을 맞아 가족단위 고객을 위한 이색 전시를 선보인다.
현대백화점은 오는 7월 5일까지 판교점 5층에 위치한 현대어린이책미술관에서 글로벌 그림책 전시 ‘세상의 눈’을 개최한다고 1일 밝혔다.
세상의 눈은 12개국 13개 출판사가 참여해 어린이를 위한 책과 작품을 선보이는 글로벌 전시 프로젝트다. 이번 전시는 프랑스·폴란드·이탈리아·체코에 이어 다섯 번째로 열리는 것으로, 향후 일본과 멕시코 등 여러 국가를 순회하며 이어질 예정이다.
이번 전시에서는 세계 각국 출판사들이 제공한 160여 권의 그림책과 130여 점의 일러스트레이션 작품을 선보인다. 관람객들은 해외 작가들의 그림책과 일러스트레이션을 통해 다양한 국가의 언어와 문화를 자연스럽게 접할 수 있다.
전시와 연계한 체험 프로그램도 마련됐다. ‘주사위로 따라가는 그림책 탐험’, ‘예삐의 질문’, ‘축제에 갈 거야’ 등 총 12가지 활동을 통해 아이들이 직접 그림을 그리고 글을 쓰며 창의력과 상상력을 키울 수 있도록 구성했다.
어린이를 위한 워크숍 프로그램도 진행된다. 오는 25일에는 프랑스 출신의 일러스트레이터 가비 바쟁(Gaby Bazin)이, 다음달 9일에는 판화와 유화 등 다양한 기법을 사용하는 것으로 잘 알려진 슬로바키아 출신의 일러스트레이터 다니엘라 올레이니코바(Daniela Olejnikova)의 워크숍이 예정돼 있다. 참가 신청은 현대어린이책미술관 공식 홈페이지를 통해 가능하다.
현대어린이책미술관 관계자는 “이번 전시를 통해 어린이들이 세계 각국의 문화와 예술을 접하고 더 넓은 세상을 바라볼 수 있기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 예술 세계를 탐구하며 창의력을 키울 수 있는 전시를 지속적으로 선보일 계획이다”고 말했다.

The exhibition showcases approximately 160 picture books and 130 illustrations provided by publishers from around the world. Visitors can naturally encounter the languages and cultures of diverse nations through the picture books and illustrations by international artists.
Experiential programs linked to the exhibition have also been prepared. The program is designed to foster creativity and imagination through a total of 12 activities, including ‘Picture Book Exploration Followed by Dice,’ ‘Yeppi’s Questions,’ and ‘I’m Going to the Festival,’ allowing children to draw and write stories themselves.
Workshop programs for children will also be held. On the upcoming 25th, a workshop by French illustrator Gaby Bazin is scheduled, followed by a workshop on the 9th of next month by Slovakian illustrator Daniela Olejnikova, who is well-known for using various techniques such as printmaking and oil painting.
