대전시, 구암교차로 지하차도 건설 본격화
타당성 용역 착수, 425m 왕복 6차로 규모, 2030년 완공 목표
LH가 사업비 445억 원 전액 부담…
대전 서북부권의 고질적인 교통 정체 구간인 구암교차로(옛 유성생명고삼거리)를 입체화하는 사업이 본격적인 궤도에 올랐다. 상습 정체 해소는 물론, 유성 복합터미널과 연계된 사통팔달 교통망 구축에 속도가 붙을 전망이다.
대전시는 2일 구암교차로 입체화 사업의 타당성 평가 및 기본계획 수립 용역에 착수했다고 밝혔다. 이번 사업은 유성대로의 흐름을 끊지 않고 통과할 수 있도록 연장 425m, 왕복 6차로 규모의 지하차도를 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.
구암교차로 지하차도가 완공되면 외삼~유성복합터미널 BRT 연결도로와 자연스럽게 이어져, 한밭대로와 계룡로로 집중되던 교통량을 효과적으로 분산할 것으로 기대된다.
특히 신호 대기 없는 통행이 가능해짐에 따라 서북부 지역의 전반적인 교통 흐름이 획기적으로 개선될 전망이다.
이번 사업은 대전시의 끈질긴 협의 끝에 얻어낸 결실이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.
대전시는 죽동2지구 광역교통개선대책에 이 사업을 반영시키기 위해 국토교통부와 LH를 설득해 왔으며, 그 결과 2026년 2월 사업을 최종 확정 지었다. 무엇보다 총사업비 445억 원 전액을 LH가 부담하기로 해 대전시의 재정 부담을 완전히 덜어냈다.
대전시는 오는 7월까지 타당성 검증을 마친 뒤, 이를 바탕으로 행정안전부 지방재정투자심사 등 후속 절차를 밟을 예정이다. 이후 2028년까지 실시설계를 완료하고 곧바로 착공에 들어가 2030년에는 시민들에게 개방한다는 계획이다.

The project to create grade separation at Guam Intersection (formerly Yuseong Life Science High School Intersection), a chronically congested area in northwestern Daejeon, has officially gotten underway.
