한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈)은 4월 3일부터 4일까지 이틀간 경주시 서악동 본사 야외 특설무대에서 ‘벚꽃엔딩 피크닉 in KORAD’ 행사를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
공단 본사 인근 흥무로에서 김유신 장군묘로 이어지는 벚꽃길은 ‘한국의 아름다운 길 100선’에 선정된 대표 명소로, 주말에는 벚꽃이 만개할 것으로 예상된다.
행사 기간 동안 경주지역 청년 인디밴드 공연을 비롯해 발달장애인 난타공연, 마술쇼 등 다양한 문화공연이 펼쳐진다.
또한 청년창업기업이 참여하는 프리마켓과 함께 페이스페인팅, 풍선아트, 책갈피 만들기 등 체험 프로그램도 운영돼 방문객들에게 풍성한 즐길거리를 제공할 예정이다.
이에 앞서 조성돈 이사장은 행사 준비 상황을 점검하며 “안전사고 예방에 만전을 기해달라”고 당부했다.
공단은 이번 행사를 통해 지역 주민과 관광객이 함께 어우러지는 봄 축제의 장을 마련한다는 계획이다.

KAEEC (Chairman Cho Seong-don) announced that it will host the ‘Cherry Blossom Ending Picnic in KORAD’ event for two days, from April 3 to 4, at a special outdoor stage at its headquarters in Seoak-dong, Gyeongju.
The cherry blossom road leading from Heungmu-ro near the Corporation's headquarters to the Tomb of General Kim Yu-sin is a representative scenic spot selected as one of the "100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea," and the cherry blossoms are expected to be in full bloom this weekend.
During the event, various cultural performances will take place, including performances by local Gyeongju indie bands, Nanta performances by people with developmental disabilities, and magic shows.
In addition, a flea market featuring youth startups will be held, along with hands-on programs such as face painting, balloon art, and bookmark making, providing visitors with a wealth of entertainment. Prior to this, Chairman Cho Seong-don inspected the preparations for the event and urged that "every effort be made to prevent safety accidents."
The Corporation plans to use this event to create a venue for a spring festival where local residents and tourists can mingle together.
