군에 따르면 4월 1일 기준 고향사랑기부금은 총 5,910건, 9억 1120만 원이 모이며 제도가 안정적으로 정착되고 있으며, 특히 최재형 보은군수가 출향인과 기업인을 중심으로 참여를 꾸준히 독려하는 등 기부 기반 확대를 통해 고향사랑기부금 9억 돌파라는 큰 업적을 나타냈다.
오경석 남부권혁신지원센터장도 2일 보은군청을 방문해 자녀 오예은 씨의 뜻을 담은 고향사랑기부금 100만 원을 대신 기탁하며 고향사랑기부금 9억 돌파를 축하해줬다.
이번 기탁은 올해 상반기 퇴직을 앞둔 부친의 뜻을 바탕으로 자녀가 참여한 사례로, 고향을 향한 마음이 자연스럽게 세대로 이어지고 있음을 보여주고 있다.
군은 고향사랑기부제의 안정적인 정착과 함께 지역을 향한 관심과 참여를 더욱 확대해 나가기 위해 올해 고향사랑기부금 10억 원 달성을 목표로 참여 확산을 이어갈 계획이다.
아울러 군은 고향사랑기부금의 활용 가치를 높이기 위해 4월 1일부터 30일까지 ‘2026년 보은군 고향사랑기부제 지정기부사업 아이디어 공모전’을 진행 중이다.
공모는 ‘보은군 고향사랑기부제’에 관심 있는 누구나 참여할 수 있으며, △사회적 취약계층 지원 및 청소년 육성·보호 △지역 주민의 문화·예술·보건 증진 △시민참여와 자원봉사 등 지역공동체 활성화 △그 밖에 주민 복리 증진에 필요한 사업 등 다양한 분야의 지정기부사업 아이디어를 접수받는다.
