【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=진천읍지역사회보장협의체는 2일 저장강박 증세를 보이는 독거노인 가정을 방문해 주거환경 개선 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
저장강박은 불필요한 물건을 버리지 못하고 과도하게 쌓아두는 심리적 문제로, 위생과 안전에 취약한 주거환경을 초래해 일상생활 유지에 어려움을 겪게 하는 요인으로 작용한다.
이번 활동은 고독사 위험 대응 시스템 시범운영의 하나로 추진됐으며, 이웃 주민의 제보를 통해 대상 가구를 발굴했다.
이후 진천읍 맞춤형복지팀과 지역사회보장협의체는 긴급 회의를 거쳐 주거환경 개선이 시급하다고 판단하고 신속하게 지원을 결정했다.
해당 가구는 지난해 배우자의 병환으로 어려움을 겪던 중 맞춤형복지팀 상담 과정에서 위기 상황이 확인돼 병원 이송 등 긴급 지원을 받은 바 있다.
이후 배우자 부재로 혼자 생활을 이어오던 중 식생활 유지의 어려움과 함께 치매 초기 증세까지 나타나 돌봄서비스 연계가 지속적으로 필요한 상황이었다.
이날 협의체 위원들과 관계 공무원들은 가정 내에 쌓여 있던 생활 폐기물과 불필요한 물품을 정리하고, 위생 환경을 개선하는 데 힘을 모았다.
배경석 진천읍장과 송석현 민간위원장은 “고령화가 심화하면서 도움이 필요한 독거노인 가정이 점점 증가하고 있다”며 “이번 주거환경 개선을 통해 어르신이 더 쾌적하고 안전한 공간에서 존엄한 삶을 이어가시길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 진천읍 맞춤형복지팀과 지역사회보장협의체는 지속적인 협력을 바탕으로 복지 취약계층을 위한 현장 중심의 지원 활동을 강화하고 있으며, 앞으로도 촘촘한 지역사회 돌봄 체계 구축을 위해 다양한 사업을 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
