충남도립대학교 작업치료학과가 보령 일원에서 1박 2일 일정으로 학과 MT를 운영했다고 2일 밝혔다. 재학생 90여 명이 참여한 이번 일정은 단순 친목 행사가 아닌 사람을 이해하고 관계를 다루는 '작업치료' 전공의 특성을 현장 활동에 함께 녹여 내는 것에 중점을 뒀다.
레크리에이션과 팀 활동을 함께하며 자연스럽게 소통하고 협력하는 시간을 가진 학생들은 학과 선배들과 전공 수업 및 대학생활 경험담을 나누며 교류하는 시간을 가졌다.
특히 일정 전후로 안전교육을 진행해 공동체의 의미에 대해 되새기고 책임감과 협업 태도도 함께 익힐 수 있도록 프로그램을 구성한 것이 주효했다는 평가다. 신체적·정신적 영역에서 어려움을 겪는 대상자가 일상을 회복할 수 있게끔 지원하는 학문이 작업치료라는 측면에서, 이번 MT는 공감과 배려의 감각을 학생들이 직접 체득할 수 있는 귀중한 장면이었다.
