충남교육청, 권역별 다문화교육 정책 나눔자리 개최

충남교육청이 이주배경학생 증가와 지역별 교육 여건 변화에 대응하기 위해 권역별 다문화교육 정책 나눔자리를 개최했다. 교육지원청별로 상이한 상황과 특성에 따른 지원 체계를 수립하고, 정책 추진 기반에 현장성을 덧입히기 위한 취지다.

3개 권역으로 나눠 진행된 정책 나눔자리는 1권역(천안·아산·서산·당진·논산·계룡) 3월 25일 천안시 청소년복합커뮤니티센터, 2권역(공주·부여·서천·청양·금산) 3월 31일 공주교육지원청, 3권역(홍성·예산·태안·보령) 4월 2일 홍성교육지원청에서 각각 열렸다. 

교육지원청 교육과장과 업무 담당자, 도교육청 관계자들이 각 권역 나눔자리에 참석해 다문화교육 정책 방향을 공유하고 지역별 운영 사례와 현안을 공유·점검했다. 정책 상담과 의견 수렴도 병행해 실무 협의의 성격도 강화했다.

충남교육청은 '이주배경학생 수가 많은 지역'과 '수는 적지만 비율이 높게 나타나는 지역'이 중첩돼 있는 현 상황에 주목하고 학생의 비율, 밀집도, 학교 특성을 함께 고려한 지원 방안 수립을 중심으로 논의를 진행했다.   

김지철 교육감은 모든 학생이 차별 없이 교육받을 수 있는 환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다고 밝히며, 급변적 교육환경 속에서도 흔들림 없이 이주배경학생들에 대한 포용 교육을 선도해 나가겠다는 뜻을 전했다.

The Chungnam Office of Education held regional multicultural education policy sharing sessions to respond to the increase in students with immigrant backgrounds and changes in regional educational conditions. The purpose was to establish support systems tailored to the differing situations and characteristics of each Office of Education and to add a sense of practical experience to the foundation of policy implementation.

The policy sharing sessions, divided into three regions, were held at the Cheonan Youth Complex Community Center on March 25 for Region 1 (Cheonan, Asan, Seosan, Dangjin, Nonsan, and Gyeryong); the Gongju Office of Education on March 31 for Region 2 (Gongju, Buyeo, Seocheon, Cheongyang, and Geumsan); and the Hongseong Office of Education on April 2 for Region 3 (Hongseong, Yesan, Taean, and Boryeong). Directors of Education Divisions and staff from Offices of Education, along with officials from the Provincial Office of Education, attended regional sharing sessions to share policy directions for multicultural education and to review and examine regional operational cases and current issues. The sessions also strengthened the nature of working-level consultations by conducting policy consultations and gathering opinions in parallel.

The Chungnam Office of Education focused on the current situation where "regions with a large number of students with immigrant backgrounds" overlap with "regions with a small number but a high proportion." Discussions centered on establishing support measures that consider student ratios, population density, and school characteristics.

Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated that he would strive to create an environment where all students can receive education without discrimination, and conveyed his intention to lead inclusive education for students with immigrant backgrounds without wavering, even amidst a rapidly changing educational environment.
