가평군농업기술센터는 지난 2일 센터 내에서 관내 농업인들이 참석한 가운데 ‘농작업 중대재해 예방을 위한 안전관리 실천 다짐 대회 및 교육’을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
기술센터는 이번 다짐 대회를 마중물 삼아 시범 농업인을 대상으로 한 현장 밀착형 컨설팅에 본격적으로 착수한다. 이번 사업은 농작업 중 빈번하게 발생하는 부상, 질병, 장해 등 치명적인 위험 요소를 사전에 완벽히 차단하여 농업인들의 삶의 질을 획기적으로 향상시키기 위해 기획됐다.
특히, 이번 ‘농작업 안전관리 컨설팅 지원사업’은 가평군이 경기도 내 우선 지역으로 선정되면서 사업 추진에 강력한 동력을 확보하게 됐다. 이에 군은 컨설팅의 전문성과 실효성을 극대화하기 위해 전문 ‘농작업 안전관리자’ 2명을 신규 채용해 현장에 전진 배치했다.
지원 대상은 5인 이상 상시근로자를 고용하고 있는 농장주와 시설하우스 등 농기계 활용도가 높은 농업경영주를 포함한 관내 총 110농가다. 안전 컨설팅은 농번기 전·중·후 세 차례에 걸쳐 현장을 직접 방문하는 정밀 점검 방식으로 꼼꼼하게 진행된다. 가평군은 이번 시범사업의 성과를 면밀히 분석·평가하여 내년부터는 사업 범위를 대폭 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
이와 함께 군은 다가오는 여름철 불청객인 폭염 및 온열질환 예방 대책도 한층 강화한다. 지역 내 선도 농가 10명을 ‘온열재해 예방 요원’으로 적극 육성하여, 1,200농가를 대상으로 폭염 등 위험 요소를 선제적으로 예방하고 안전한 여름나기를 지원할 계획이다.
