이재영 군수는 “오늘 우리가 심은 한 그루의 나무가 우리 증평의 미래세대를 위한 희망의 숲이 될 것”이라며 “나무를 심는 것만큼 지키고 보호하는 일도 중요하다”고 강조했다. 이어 “지난해 영남권에서 발생한 대형 산불을 교훈 삼아 산불 예방에 군민 모두가 관심을 갖고 동참해 주길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편, 군은 최근 건조한 날씨가 이어짐에 따라 산림 취약지역 순찰을 확대하고 초동 대응 체계를 점검하는 등 산불 예방에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
