【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=서원대학교는 대전광역시교육청이 주관하는 ‘2026년 대학 연계 초 1·2 맞춤형 프로그램 운영 사업’에 선정되며 3년 연속 사업 수행 대학으로 선정됐다.
이 사업은 대학의 전문 인적·교육 자원을 활용해 초등학교 1~2학년을 대상으로 맞춤형 방과후 프로그램을 제공하는 것으로, 대학의 교육 역량을 지역사회와 연계하는 데 목적이 있다. 축적된 운영 경험과 체계적인 강사 관리 시스템을 바탕으로 우수한 평가를 받아 올해도 사업을 이어가게 됐다.
서원대학교는 대전광역시교육청과 연계해 2024년 ‘지역대학 및 체육회 연계 늘봄학교 프로그램 운영 사업’을 시작으로, 2025년 ‘대학 및 공공기관 연계 늘봄학교 운영 사업’을 안정적으로 운영해 왔다. 특히 2025년에는 1학기 기준 운영 규모를 17개교 24학급에서 22개교 32학급으로 확대하며 체육 활동과 체험 중심 교육 기회를 넓혔다. 또한 강사진 인력풀을 구축하고 체계적인 관리·소통 체계를 운영하며 프로그램 운영의 전문성을 높였다.
이 같은 성과를 바탕으로 2026년에는 체육 분야 5개 프로그램, 23개 학급을 운영할 계획이다. 지역 유관기관과의 협력을 확대하고 프로그램 질 관리 체계를 강화해 학생 중심의 방과후 교육을 이어갈 방침이다.
사업 총괄 책임자인 김영미 교학부총장은 “학생들이 즐겁게 참여할 수 있는 체험 중심 프로그램을 확대하고 안전하고 질 높은 방과후 교육 환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다”라고 말했다.
한편 서원대학교는 지역사회 교육 공백 해소와 돌봄 기능 지원을 위한 역할을 기반으로 2024년부터 한국과학창의재단 및 대전광역시교육청과 연계한 늘봄학교 사업을 지속적으로 추진하고 있다.

Seowon University has been selected for the ‘2026 University-Linked Customized Program for Elementary School Grades 1 & 2’ organized by the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, marking its third consecutive year as a participating university.
This project utilizes the university’s specialized human and educational resources to provide customized after-school programs for first and second-grade elementary students, aiming to connect the university’s educational capabilities with the local community. Based on accumulated operational experience and a systematic instructor management system, the university received excellent evaluations, allowing it to continue the project this year.
In partnership with the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, Seowon University has stably operated the ‘Neulbom School Program in Linkage with Local Universities and Sports Associations’ in 2024, followed by the ‘Neulbom School Program in Linkage with Universities and Public Institutions’ in 2025. Notably, in 2025, the scale of operations for the first semester was expanded from 24 classes across 17 schools to 32 classes across 22 schools, broadening opportunities for physical activities and experience-based education.
