【브레이크뉴스 봉화】이성현 기자=봉화군정신건강복지센터가 생명존중 문화 확산을 위한 ‘생명존중 안심마을’ 사업을 확대하며 지역사회 안전망 구축에 나섰다.

센터는 최근 안심마을 사업 대상지로 춘양면과 명호면을 추가 선정하고, 지난 6일부터 7일까지 이틀간 지역 내 다양한 기관·단체와 협약식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약에는 우리약국, 맑은소리음악학원, 국립백두대간수목원, 춘양면보건지소, 명진재가복지센터, B앤C돈까스, 억지춘양상설시장 상인회, 의양2리 새마을부녀회 등 5개 영역의 기관과 주민단체가 참여해 생명존중 실천과 자살 예방을 위한 협력 의지를 다졌다.
‘생명존중 안심마을’은 지역 주민과 기관이 함께 참여해 자살 예방과 생명 보호 활동을 수행하는 마을 단위 사업이다. 고위험군 발굴과 개입, 전문기관 연계는 물론 자살 예방 인식 개선 캠페인, 생명지킴이 교육, 맞춤형 서비스 제공, 자살위험 수단 차단 등을 통해 위기 신호를 조기에 발견하고 신속히 대응하는 지역사회 안전망 구축을 목표로 한다.
센터는 사업의 실효성을 높이기 위해 자살 예방 교육과 고위험군 발굴·지원 활동을 수행할 수 있는 인적·물적 자원을 갖춘 지역을 중심으로 대상지를 선정해 왔다. 앞서 2025년에는 봉화읍을 대상으로 시범사업을 추진해 유관기관 간 협력체계를 구축하고 주민 중심의 위기 대응 기반을 마련하는 성과를 거둔 바 있다.
봉화군정신건강복지센터 관계자는 “안심마을 사업을 통해 지역사회가 함께 생명을 지키는 환경을 조성해 나가겠다”며 “앞으로도 사업을 지속적으로 확대하고 내실 있게 운영해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The Center announced that it recently selected Chunyang and Myeongho townships as additional target areas for the Safe Village project and held agreement ceremonies with various local institutions and organizations over two days, from the 6th to the 7th.
Participating in this agreement were institutions and resident groups from five sectors, including Woori Pharmacy, Malgeun Sori Music Academy, the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum, Chunyang Township Health Sub-center, Myeongjin Home Care Welfare Center, B&C Pork Cutlet, the Eokji Chunyang Permanent Market Merchants Association, and the Uiyang 2-ri Saemaul Women's Association, who reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation for the practice of respect for life and suicide prevention.
The ‘Life Respect Safe Village’ is a village-level project in which local residents and institutions participate together to carry out suicide prevention and life protection activities. The goal is to establish a community safety net that detects warning signs early and responds rapidly through the identification and intervention of high-risk groups, linkage with specialized agencies, as well as suicide prevention awareness campaigns, life-saving training, provision of customized services, and the blocking of means of suicide risk.
To enhance the effectiveness of the project, the Center has selected target sites based on regions equipped with the human and material resources necessary to conduct suicide prevention education and activities to identify and support high-risk groups. Previously, in 2025, a pilot project was implemented in Bonghwa-eup, achieving results in establishing a cooperative system among relevant agencies and laying the foundation for resident-centered crisis response.
An official from the Bonghwa County Mental Health and Welfare Center stated, "Through the Safe Village project, we will create an environment where the community works together to protect lives," adding, "We will continue to expand the project and operate it effectively."
