안양시가 전국지속가능발전협의회(이하 지속협) 성평등의제네트워크가 실시한 실태 조사에서 행정 만족도와 시민 참여율 등 주요 지표에서 전국 최상위 수준을 기록하며 ‘지속가능한 행정 도시’로서의 면모를 입증했다.
안양시는 최근 지속협이 전국 23개 지역 시민 1,171명을 대상으로 실시한 「2025 경제·정치 영역에서의 성평등한 삶을 위한 보고서」 분석 결과, 다수 항목에서 1위를 차지했다고 7일 밝혔다.
보고서에 따르면 안양시는 정치영역(지역의원 인식 및 활동 만족도 등)에서 63.9점을 기록하며 전국 1위에 올랐다. 특히 안양 지역 응답자의 59.8%가 ‘지역 행정 만족도’에 대해 긍정적으로 답해, 조사 대상 지역 중 행정에 대한 신뢰도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 수입 만족도와 일·가정 양립 등을 묻는 경제영역 점수 또한 73.4점으로 전국 4위를 기록하며 고른 성적을 보였다.
안양시는 시민들의 정책 인지도와 참여도 면에서도 압도적인 수치를 기록했다. 지속협에 대한 인지도는 84.1%, 지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 인지도는 29.9%로 모두 전국에서 가장 높았다. 안양시민들은 지역 소식을 접하는 경로로 ‘회의나 모임(45.7%)’을 꼽은 비율이 타 지역보다 높았으며, 자원봉사 참여 비중(34.7%)도 높게 나타나 시민 간 네트워크와 공동체 활동이 매우 활발함을 시사했다.
시는 이러한 시민들의 높은 참여 역량을 실제 정책 변화로 연결할 방침이다. 지속협과 협력해 직장 내 성평등 문화 개선을 위한 맞춤형 컨설팅과 교육을 추진하고, 조사 결과를 성평등 기본계획 및 성인지 예산에 실질적으로 반영할 계획이다.
안양시 관계자는 “안양시는 시민 참여와 지속가능발전에 대한 의식이 매우 높은 도시임이 확인됐다”며 “높은 시민 역량이 실질적인 성평등과 삶의 질 향상으로 이어지도록 제도적 개선에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
