(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시 보건환경연구원이 8일, 건강관리용으로 많이 소비되는 분말형 식품 31개를 대상으로 1분기 안전 실태를 조사한 결과, 17개 제품에서 금속성 이물(쇳가루)이 기준을 초과한 것으로 확인됐다고 밝혔다.
보건환경연구원에 따르면, 이번 조사 대상은 강황, 노니, 핑거루트 등 시중에 유통 중인 다양한 분말·가루 형태의 제품으로 구성됐으며, 금속성 이물 혼입 여부 등을 집중 점검했다.
검사 결과 일부 제품에서 쇳가루 등 금속성 이물이 기준치(10.0 ㎎/㎏)를 초과해 검출됐으며, 최대 23배를 초과한 사례도 확인돼 안전관리가 필요한 수준으로 나타났다.
금속성 이물은 분말·가루 제품 제조 과정에서 원료를 금속 재질의 분쇄기로 가공할 때 발생할 수 있으며, 이후 자석을 활용한 제거 공정을 통해 충분히 걸러낼 수 있는 위해요소다.
연구원은 부적합 제품을 관할 지자체 및 식품의약품안전처에 즉시 통보해 해당 제품의 유통·판매를 차단했으며, 관련 정보는 식품안전나라를 통해 공개했다.
또한, 해당 제품을 구매한 소비자에게는 판매업체 또는 제조업체를 통한 반품을 당부했다.
이번 조사는 ‘먹거리 안전망 사업’의 일환으로 시 위생정책과와 보건환경연구원이 협업해 추진한 것으로, 향후 저나트륨·고단백 식품의 표시 함량 검사와 무인판매점 어린이 기호식품 점검 등 시민 체감형 기획검사를 확대할 계획이다.
아울러, 축적된 검사 데이터와 위해물질 분석 기술을 활용해 변화하는 소비 형태에 대응한 선제적 수거·검사 체계도 지속 강화할 방침이다.
