정청래, “제2의 노무현·이재명” 김부겸에 힘 싣기

【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=정청래 더불어민주당 대표가 대구에서 열린 현장 최고위원회의에서 김부겸 더불어민주당 대구시장 후보를 “제2의 노무현·이재명”이라고 평가하며 공개적으로 지지를 선언했다. 

보수세가 강한 대구에서 중앙 정치권의 전폭적인 지원을 통해 판세 변화를 노린 것으로 풀이된다.

정 대표는 8일 대구 북구 인터불고 엑스코 호텔에서 열린 회의에서 “김부겸 후보야말로 대구의 가치를 두 배로 올릴 적임자”라고 강조했다. 

그는 “대구·경북 행정통합을 다시 추진하고, 지역 예산을 크게 늘리겠다”며 중앙 차원의 적극적 지원 의지도 확인했다. 

특히 국민의힘을 향해 “갈팡질팡했다”며 지역 현안 주도권을 민주당이 쥐고 있음을 부각했다.

김 후보는 이재명 대통령과 정 대표의 지원을 ‘보증수표’라고 표현하며 “대구를 첨단 기술융합 메디시티, AI 로봇 중심 도시, 미래 모빌리티 산업의 선도 도시로 만들겠다”고 약속했다.

이어 “대구가 스스로 미래를 책임지는 도시로 일어설 수 있도록 끝까지 뛰겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다. 김 후보는 9일 예비후보 등록을 앞두고 있다.

Democratic Party of Korea Chairman Chung Cheong-rae publicly declared his support for Daegu mayoral candidate Kim Boo-kyum at an on-site Supreme Council meeting held in Daegu, describing him as a "second Roh Moo-hyun and Lee Jae-myung."

This move is interpreted as an attempt to shift the political landscape in Daegu, a region with strong conservative leanings, through full support from the central political sphere.

At the meeting held on the 8th at the Interbulgo EXCO Hotel in Buk-gu, Daegu, Chairman Chung emphasized, "Candidate Kim Boo-kyum is the right person to double the value of Daegu."

He also confirmed his intention for active support at the central level, stating, "We will push for the administrative integration of Daegu and Gyeongbuk again and significantly increase the regional budget."

In particular, he highlighted that the Democratic Party holds the initiative on local issues, criticizing the People Power Party for "wavering."

Describing the support from President Lee Jae-myung and Chairman Chung as a "guarantee," Candidate Kim promised to "transform Daegu into a high-tech convergence medical city, a city centered on AI robots, and a leading city for the future mobility industry."

He then expressed his aspirations, stating, “I will run until the end so that Daegu can rise up as a city that takes responsibility for its own future.” Candidate Kim is scheduled to register as a preliminary candidate on the 9th.
