세종국제고가 대만문화고등학교 대표단을 초청해 국제교류 프로그램을 운영했다고 8일 밝혔다.
앞서 대만문화고는 학생 36명, 교사 3명, 국내 인솔자 2명 등 총 41명이 세종을 방문했다.
대만문화고는 1989년 설립된 타이중 소재 공립 고등학교로, 인문·예술·과학 등 다양한 분야에서 우수한 교육 성과를 보이고 있는 학교다.
이번 교류 프로그램은 예술 공연, 학술 토론, 문화 체험, 중국어 기반 체험 부스 등 네 가지 축을 중심으로 운영됐다. 학생들은 다양한 활동에 직접 참여하며 예술적 감수성, 학문적 탐구력, 문화 이해력, 외국어 소통 역량을 함께 키우는 시간을 가졌다.
환영식과 미니 콘서트에서는 세종국제고 중국어 선택 학생 전원의 합창, 양교 학생들의 K-POP 합동 공연, 듀엣 무대, 대만문화고의 현대무용 공연 등 다채로운 무대가 펼쳐졌다.
특히 학생들이 기획부터 무대 구성까지 주도적으로 참여해 음악을 매개로 서로의 문화를 이해하고 교감하는 뜻깊은 자리가 됐다.
학술 교류 프로그램은 지속가능발전목표(SDGs) 가운데 ‘지속가능한 도시와 공동체(SDG11)’를 주제로 진행됐다. 학생들은 한국과 대만의 도시 정책과 공동체 사례를 비교하며 발표와 심화 토론을 이어갔고, 이를 통해 세계시민으로서의 시각을 넓히는 계기를 마련했다.
문화 교류 활동에서는 양교 학생들이 사전에 준비한 문화 소개 자료와 체험 활동을 바탕으로 서로의 생활과 문화를 공유했다. 또한 세종국제고 학생들은 한국 간식 만들기와 한글 이름 소품 제작 부스를 직접 기획·운영하며 중국어로 안내와 소통을 진행해 외국어 활용에 대한 자신감과 흥미를 높였다.
세종국제고와 대만문화고는 2015년부터 꾸준히 교류를 이어오고 있으며, 올해 하반기에는 세종국제고 대표단이 대만문화고를 방문해 공동 수업과 현지 교류 활동을 진행할 예정이다.
이경영 교장은 “이번 교류는 10년간 이어온 우정을 바탕으로 문화에 대한 깊은 이해와 학문적 성장을 함께 나눈 매우 뜻깊은 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 국제교류 프로그램을 통해 학생들이 세계를 무대로 성장할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 했다.

Sejong International High School announced on the 8th that it had hosted an international exchange program for a delegation from Taiwan Culture High School.
Previously, a total of 41 people from Taiwan Culture High School visited Sejong, including 36 students, 3 teachers, and 2 domestic chaperones.
Established in 1989, Taiwan Culture High School is a public high school located in Taichung that demonstrates excellent educational achievements across various fields, including humanities, arts, and science.
This exchange program was organized around four main pillars: artistic performances, academic discussions, cultural experiences, and Chinese-language experience booths. The welcoming ceremony and mini-concert featured a diverse array of performances, including a choir by all Chinese-elected students at Sejong International High School, a joint K-POP performance by students from both schools, duet stages, and a contemporary dance performance by Taiwan Culture High School. In particular, as students took the lead in everything from planning to stage design, it became a meaningful occasion to understand and connect with each other's cultures through the medium of music.
The academic exchange program was conducted under the theme of "Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)," one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students compared urban policies and community cases from Korea and Taiwan, engaging in presentations and in-depth discussions, which provided an opportunity to broaden their perspectives as global citizens.
During the cultural exchange activities, students from both schools shared their lives and cultures based on cultural introduction materials and hands-on experiences prepared in advance. Additionally, Sejong International High School students directly planned and operated booths for making Korean snacks and crafting props with Korean names, conducting guidance and communication in Chinese, thereby boosting their confidence and interest in using foreign languages.
Sejong International High School and Taiwan Culture High School have maintained consistent exchanges since 2015, and a delegation from Sejong International High School is scheduled to visit Taiwan Culture High School in the second half of this year to conduct joint classes and local exchange activities. Principal Lee Kyung-young said, “This exchange was a very meaningful occasion where we shared a deep understanding of culture and academic growth based on the friendship that has lasted for 10 years,” adding, “We will continue to support students so that they can grow on the global stage through various international exchange programs.”
