이번 장학금은 오송솔미초(교장 조인숙), 주성중(교장 김경희), 충주미덕중(교장 이희영), 동성고(교장 김태선), 청주여고(교장 오남진) 등 5개 학교에 각 2,000만 원씩 전달되며, 학교발전기금으로 편성되어 충북교육청 독서교육 정책 <언제나 책봄> 실현을 위한 도서 구입과 독서교육 프로그램 운영 등에 활용될 예정이다.
특히 전체 지원금의 약 90%는 도서 구입에 사용하고, 나머지는 독서교육 연계 프로그램에 활용해 학생들이 일상에서 책을 가까이하는 독서환경 조성에 중점을 둘 계획이다.
이날 전달식에는 윤건영 교육감과 최지현 충북교육성장지원재단 이사장을 비롯해 교육청 관계자와 선정학교 관계자 등 10여 명이 참석해 장학금 전달과 함께 학교도서관 활성화 방안에 대한 의견을 나눴다.
