[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국립부경대학교 수산과학대학은 10일 오전 부산 남구 대학 캠퍼스 내 동원장보고관에서 국립대만해양대학교와 국제 공동학술교류 행사를 개최했다.
이날 교류행사에는 양교의 교수진과 대학원생, 학부생 등 50여 명이 참석해 해양·수산 분야의 최신 연구성과를 공유하고 향후 협력 방향을 논의했다. 참석자들은 학술세미나를 중심으로 양식기술, 연안 생태계 변화, 해양환경 관리, 해양자원 활용 등 다양한 주제를 다뤘으며, 특히 한반도와 대만 인근 해역의 기후변화가 수산자원에 미치는 영향에 대한 공동 연구 필요성에 공감했다.
이번 세미나에서는 두 대학에서 각각 4명씩 총 8명의 연구자가 발표에 나섰다. 발표자들은 연안의 환경 변화에 따른 어류 서식지 변화, 지속가능한 양식 기술, 해양 생물다양성 보전 등 다각적인 연구 결과를 공유하며 학문적 시너지를 모색했다.
행사 후에는 국립부경대가 보유한 3,997톤급 첨단 실습선 ‘백경호’와 해양탐사 장비 시설을 둘러보는 견학 프로그램이 이어졌다. 참가자들은 실무 중심의 해양교육 및 연구환경을 경험하며 향후 공동실습 프로그램 추진 방안도 논의했다.

국립부경대 수산과학대학은 지난 1월 대만해양대를 방문해 같은 주제의 국제학술교류 행사를 가진 데 이어, 이번에는 부산에서 후속 행사를 열었다. 양 대학은 이번 교류를 계기로 공동연구 확대, 학생 교류 프로그램 정례화, 해양수산 분야 국제 공동 프로젝트 추진 등 실질적 협력 방안을 적극 모색하기로 했다.
김영목 학장은 “두 대학이 해양과 수산을 기반으로 한 교육·연구 분야에서 긴밀히 협력함으로써 글로벌 경쟁력을 높여가고 있다”며 “앞으로도 국제 네트워크를 통한 학술 교류를 계속 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The College of Fisheries Science at Pukyong National University (Dean Kim Young-Mok) hosted an international joint academic exchange event with National Taiwan Ocean University on April 10 at the Tongwon Jang Bogo Hall on the university’s campus in Busan.
The event brought together about 50 participants, including faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates from both universities, to share research findings and discuss future collaboration in marine and fisheries sciences. The academic seminar featured presentations on aquaculture technology, coastal ecosystem changes, marine resource utilization, and environmental management, focusing particularly on the impacts of climate change on coastal fisheries around the Korean Peninsula and Taiwan.
Eight researchers from both institutions—four from each—shared recent studies on topics such as shifts in fish habitats due to environmental change, sustainable aquaculture methods, and marine biodiversity conservation, seeking ways to strengthen academic cooperation.
After the seminar, participants toured Pukyong National University’s advanced training vessel *Baekkyung-ho* (3,997 tons) and related marine research facilities, exploring opportunities for joint field training programs.
This event followed a similar academic exchange held at National Taiwan Ocean University in January. The two universities plan to expand collaborative research, institutionalize student exchange programs, and promote international joint projects in marine and fisheries science.
Dean Kim Young-Mok said, “Through close cooperation based on marine and fisheries education and research, both universities are enhancing their global competitiveness. We will continue to expand our international network for academic exchange and joint innovation.”
