[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 남해군은 어린이들이 자연과 교감하고, 생활 속 정원 문화를 자연스럽게 경험할 수 있도록 하기 위해 마련된 참여형 교육 프로그램인 ‘꼬마 정원사와 함께하는 한평 정원 프로젝트’를 두모 야생화단지에서 지난 10일 개최했다.

지난 2024년부터 추진된 이 사업은 지난 2년간 남해읍 남산공원에서 운영됐지만 올해는 상주 두모 야생화단지에서 인근 상주초등학교와 미조초등학교를 비롯하여 관내 초등학교와 어린이집 어린이 등 200여 명이 참여했다. 

학생들은 이베리스, 루피너스 등 다양한 봄꽃 가운데 원하는 꽃을 선택하고 꽃의 배치, 모양까지 스스로 정하며 자신만의 생각과 개성을 담은 ‘한평 정원’을 만들었다.

참여 학생들은 “직접 만든 정원이라 특별하고 애착이 간다.”, “교실에서 접하기 어려운 체험이라 재밌었고, 한 달 동안 자주 와 보고 싶다.”는 반응을 보였으며 많은 학생들이 “내년에도 꼭 다시 했으면 좋겠다.”고 높은 만족도를 보였다.
