【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=추경호 국회의원이 13일 대구를 국내외에서 손꼽히는 재난대응 중심도시로 발전시키겠다는 구상을 내놨다.
그는 ‘세계 수준 재난안전도시’ 조성을 위한 공약을 발표하면서, 국립재난의료교육훈련센터 유치와 더불어 재난의학 전문인력 양성, 영남권을 포괄하는 초광역 재난의료허브(M-RDMH) 구축을 핵심 과제로 제시했다.
추 의원은 케이메디허브 등 기존의 의료 인프라를 활용해 가상현실(VR)·증강현실(AR) 기반 재난훈련실, AI 환자분류 시스템, 화생방(CBRN) 대응시설 등을 포함한 통합 교육·훈련 체계를 만들겠다고 밝혔다. 이와 함께 재난의학 전문대학원 유치 및 통합 교육 시스템 도입을 통해 석·박사급 재난대응 인력도 양성하겠다는 계획도 내비쳤다.
특히 영남권 통합 관제시스템을 바탕으로 119, 지자체, 병원 간 실시간 데이터 연계를 구축해, 사고 현장에서 병원 치료까지 중단 없는 응급의료 체계를 갖추겠다고 강조했다.
이를 통해 인명 피해를 최소화하고, 관련 산업을 육성하는 한편, 대구를 글로벌 재난의료 교육 허브로 도약시키겠다는 포부다.
추 의원은 “대구는 그동안 여러 재난을 겪으며 많은 아픔을 안은 도시인 만큼, 이제는 사후 수습이 아닌 사전 대비와 통합 대응으로 전환해야 할 시점”이라고 강조했다.
현재 대구가 재난안전기동대 확대와 위험시설 관리 강화 등을 통해 사망사고 ‘제로’에 가까운 성과를 내고 있지만, 기후위기와 대형 재난에는 아직 한계가 있다고도 진단했다.
그러면서 “대구를 대한민국과 아시아를 대표하는 재난대응 거점으로 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
아울러 국립중앙의료원 분원 유치 등을 통해 현장 지휘와 대응이 가능한 전문 재난 지휘관(석·박사급) 양성도 기대된다고 덧붙였다.

Through this, he expressed his ambition to minimize casualties and foster related industries, while simultaneously elevating Daegu into a global hub for disaster medical education.
Representative Chu emphasized, "As Daegu is a city that has endured much pain from various disasters, it is now time to shift from post-disaster recovery to proactive preparation and integrated response."
He also diagnosed that while Daegu is currently achieving near-zero fatalities through the expansion of the Disaster Safety Mobile Unit and strengthened management of hazardous facilities, there are still limitations regarding the climate crisis and large-scale disasters.
He further stated, "I will make Daegu a disaster response base representing South Korea and Asia."
He added that he also expects the training of professional disaster commanders (Master's or Ph.D. level) capable of on-site command and response through measures such as attracting a branch of the National Medical Center.
