대한노인회 봉화군지회(회장 안철환)는 2026년 '노인자원봉사활성화지원사업'의 일환으로 7개 봉사단을 구성하고, 지난 4월 1일부터 본격적인 활동에 돌입했다.
이 가운데 귀농귀촌연합회봉사단(단장 윤보선)은 지난 10일 봉화읍에 거주하는 선예나·동칵흥 부부 농가를 찾아 봄맞이 주거환경 개선을 위한 대청소를 실시했다. 봉사단은 주거지 주변 정비와 환경 개선 활동을 통해 안정적인 정착을 지원하고, 지역 공동체의 정을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
귀농귀촌연합회봉사단은 귀농·귀촌인을 비롯해 외국인 이주근로자, 결혼이주여성 등 다양한 배경의 주민들이 지역에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 결성된 단체다. 특히 선배 귀농인들의 경험을 바탕으로 실질적인 상담과 생활 지원을 제공하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다.
봉화군은 인구 감소와 고령화라는 지방도시의 공통 과제를 안고 있는 가운데, 이 같은 민간 주도의 자원봉사 활동이 지역사회에 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 대안으로 주목받고 있다. 봉사단은 매월 셋째 주 목요일 결혼이주여성 단체 및 귀농귀촌 희망자들과의 소통 자리를 마련하고, 주거환경 정비와 농촌 일손돕기 등 다양한 활동을 지속적으로 이어갈 계획이다.
